This blog covers the theme 4.3 Azure Pricing and Support: Azure Service Level Agreements. SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENTS (SLA) The Service Level Agreement (SLA) describes Microsoft`s operating time and connectivity obligations. These performance targets range from 99.9% to 99.99%. I think the operating time refers to the period during which a service is run without interruption. So B seems to be right in this case. RTO (Recovery time objective) max. acceptable time for an application or service not to be available after an error docs.azure.cn/en-us/articles/azure-global-purchasing-guidance/go-global-playbook-service-level-agreement-and-support the Service Level Agreement (SLA) describes Microsoft`s commitments to operating time and connectivity. PRIVATE PREVIEW For evaluation purposes, this azure feature is only available to a small number of Azure customers. All preview services are provided „as we will see“ and are not subject to Service Level Agreements (ALS).
As a general rule, they are also not supported by customer support, but some of the support is provided through the product group. There is also no guarantee that a preview function will switch to general availability. Source:https:/azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/legal/sla/ Here are the settings Microsoft retains for Azure services: MTTR (average time before recovery) Average time needed to restore a component or service after an error. When we combine ALS on different service offerings, the resulting ALS is designated as composite ALS. The resulting composite ALS can provide higher or lower working time values depending on the application architecture. For each of its services – cloud services, virtual computers, virtual networks and Microsoft SQL Azure – Microsoft has released a unique ALS. The Windows Azure service agreement ensures that Microsoft guarantees at least 99.95% operating time when making two or more role instances available in different areas of error and upgrade. This means that your ERP dynamics must be installed twice (in two separate Azure nodes or containers) for the operating time guarantee to be applicable. This requirement is largely unknown to partners and customers and could essentially double your monthly Azure cost. You can click on the link for more information about the SLA summary for Azure services. We often listen to services in Azure as Private Preview, Public Preview or General Availability (GA).
But what do these labels mean – GENERAL AVAILABILITY (GA) When a GA service works, it is in full production mode. It is fully managed by SLAs, customer support and is profitable for production expenses. Now that the service is live, it is also carbonable How is availability measured? Availability is the time a system is running fully for the time needed. The main metrics for measuring availability are mean time Between Failure (MTBF), sometimes called Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Customers should determine, based on their workload requirements and usage patterns, which application-specific SLAs they need. The performance target indicates a guaranteed operating life, expressed in 9 years, as is the case in the IT sector. Azure`s availability targets range from three nine or 99.9% operating time to four nine or 99.99% depending on the resource. For example, Azure databases for MySQL guarantee a 99.99% operating time. A Service Level Agreement or SLA is a formal document that contains certain conditions that indicate the level of service available to a client. Microsoft`s Azure-SLA defines three key features of the Azure service, performance goals, operating time and connectivity guarantees.
It should be noted that the free and common levels of many services do not come with ALS. ALPs for the various Azure services are listed in the link below!
